Me, after watching the explosions as they introduced Angel City FC, and seeing the pink-shirted players on the defense for the first ten minutes of the match: C’mon, girls.
The pink team finally managed to get the ball on the other side of the pitch.
Me: WAY TO GO, LADIES!
Beloved: who… are you rooting for?
I looked at her like she’d grown another head.
Me: what?

Beloved: Angel City is in black.
Me: what?? Why all the pink at the start?
Beloved: okay, their sleeves and numbers are pink.
Me: hurrrumph.
I guess the North Carolina Courage rocks pink attire too. How weird.
But I guess black fireworks wouldn’t be the same.
That isn’t the only odd thing. Tickets were about $50.
Parking, on the other hand, payable in advance: sixty five bucks.
Daaaaamn. And we had a much better view of the game than the car did.
