We have a problem… he’s too cute…

So we’re puppy sitting again, but not our favorite disappearing dog. Instead, we have a 4.5 month old ginger (soon to be) giant. Those paws! He’s gonna be HUGE.

Picture of the dog’s front paws.
I’m not sure you can tell so much from this picture, but those paws are disproportionately big.

He’s only staying with us for six days, but as of day three, he’s got his routine. 5:45am and he’s ready to roll (the last couple days I’ve had to be up early for work).

Before I start on the computer, though, we do a 20 minute walk and he has his brekky.

So… at the crack o’dawn, before even sparrowfart, he’s letting us know.

It. Is. Time.

On a federal holiday.

Damn, dog, what are you, a German Shepherd? Labs are supposed to be mellow and go with the flow. Shepherds… man, do it once and they’re like

“God has ordained it shall be so.”

I, for one, am unconvinced the good Lord almighty cares about my sleep schedule. The dog, on the other hand…

Puppy: Get up get up getupgetupgetupgetup…

MaeMae: Oh for gods sake shut UP.

MaeMae, our crotchety old cat, is seriously fed up with the dogs showing up. She’s even more foul tempered because we have a stray who’s decided our backyard is the place to reside and despite our attempts to dissuade it, it won’t leave.

Granny hit him with the hose yesterday, with luck that’ll help the cause.

Anyway, back to the puppy.

His raiser asked that we take pictures for his FaceBook page (“Houston We Have a Problem”) so good little sitters we, I tried on our first morning walk.

Dog head with collar and jacket visible, but no embroidered logo showing who the sponsor is.
Crap. The wrap at his neck should show the sponsor, but I didn’t realize until I got home that it had twisted and wasn’t readable.

Sigh. Second day, again stopped in the middle of the walk for photo sessions. I really like how portrait photos look, so I was still using that effect. I mean, it was fine in yesterday’s pic, you could totally see the stitching, right?

I’m gonna get me a great doggo pic for that raiser!

Photo of dog’s head, but the name of the sponsor on his jacket collar is blurred and unreadable… and actually, only his nose is in focus.
AAARGH!!

Really? Really??

Part of what got me outta bed this morning was the determination to get a world class photo of el hound. Portrait, schmortait, I’m not using special effects.

Finally! An in-focus picture of the puppy and the jacket collar reads: “Sponsored by Marsha’s Therapy Dogs”
Okay, it’s no Annie Leibovitz, but it’s not that bad.

He’s a lovely dog.
